Terminal Press Officially Announces "HARD/CORE"

Long Beach, NY -- July 1, 2008 - While it's been talked about since the debut of "Debbie Does Dallas" at the 2008 Adult Entertainment Expo, Terminal Press has now officially announced their "HARD/CORE" line of artistic reinterpretations of iconic adult cinema along with the first details and images from "Deep Throat," "Candy Stripers," "The Devil in Miss Jones" and "Tell Them Johnny Wadd is Here."

Terminal Press, in association with Arrow Productions, assembled five talented and diverse creative teams to tackle five of Adult Cinema's most well-known brands with the goal of updating and re-imagining them into unique, high-quality comic books, relevant to today's audiences. These non-pornographic, but still mature-reader titles take the characters and concepts from the original films and throw them into new scenarios with new twists and creative spins that will surely surprise audiences while still retaining the elements that made them classics in the first place.

"Deep Throat" is a campy spy thriller by writer Keith McCleary, artist Alex Reigel and colorist Narek Gevorgian. "Candy Stripers" is a dark fairy tale by writer Brian Ferrara, artist Garrett Eisenheim and colorist Adam Street. "The Devil in Miss Jones" is a horror title by writer Christopher E. Long, artist Ken Knudtsen and colorist Narek Gevorgian. "Tell Them Johnny Wadd is Here" is a noir crime drama by writer Tony Fleecs, colorist Narek Gevorgian, with the artist still to be announced (promo art by Seth Frail).

"Working on these iconic properties with the freedom we've been given has been inspiring to everyone involved" says publisher Brian Ferrara. "Arrow metaphorically dumped out the toy box in front of us and just let us play- I think that fun and excitement comes across in each of these titles."

More in-depth information and previews from each title will be released in the coming weeks, along with news relating to television and toys as well.

"Debbie Does Dallas" is already available at terminalpress.com. "Deep Throat" and "Candy Stripers" will debut at the 2008 San Diego Comic Con on July 24th. "The Devil in Miss Jones" and "Tell Them Johnny Wadd is Here" will debut this fall. A collected edition titled "HARD/CORE" containing all of the stories plus bonus material will be available in the winter. The Limited Edition printings will only be available through terminalpress.com and Terminal Press' convention appearances.

Telefilm Provides Funding For Clockwork Girl

Arcana is proud to announce that Telefilm Canada, the federal cultural agency dedicated to the development and promotion of the Canadian audiovisual industry, has provided funding for the Clockwork Girl animated film.

Clockwork Girl tells the tale of a nameless robot girl who has recently been given the gift of life from her creator. While she explores the wonders of an ordinary world she meets an amazing mutant boy and they share a friendship that must overcome their warring families. Created by Sean O’Reilly and Kevin Hanna, the series was the first release from Arcana’s all ages division, Arcana Kids. Debuting in July 2007 the book received critical acclaim for its astounding artwork and timeless love story.

Telefilm Canada is a Crown corporation reporting to Parliament through the Department of Canadian Heritage. Headquartered in Montréal, Telefilm provides services to the Canadian audiovisual industry by means of four regional offices located in Vancouver, Toronto, Montréal and Halifax. Telefilm’s main goals are celebrating the telling of unique Canadian stories, actively championing a sustainable Canadian audiovisual culture, reward performance, encourage new thinking, and promote diversity.

When recently asked about the Clockwork Girl film, co-creator Kevin Hanna said, “I'm not sure how much I can say, other then I am thrilled that things are going as well as I ever hoped they could be. Working in Hollywood, I know that adaptations are a gamble that often taint the source material. So far everything is going right with Clockwork Girl, the people involved really understand the spirit of the book and the characters. I think fans of the book will be very happy with where this ends up.”
